A HOLY SPIRIT STORY

Church Family... My heart is just overwhelmed and over bursting with something I’m not quite sure I can place. When I approached that homeless woman and her daughter outside the church, I was not at all apprehensive to invite them in to listen to the service. She asked me tentatively if I thought that they would be accepted and there was not a shadow of doubt in my mind about the genuineness of our people to look past outward appearances and be welcoming.
That woman thanked us with her whole heart and said she was very blessed to have been welcomed and accepted with open arms. I know there was a lot of our people who didn’t bat an eye and spoke to her as if she has been coming forever.
This is the first time I have firsthand experienced genuine non biased Christian love to a stranger... It feels so heartwarming and I don’t know... Just know that I am so profoundly proud of all of you and also Chris who didn’t blink when she asked for a ride to the shelter. I know we’ll probably never see them again, And there’s a whole lot to the story that may be blurry, and maybe not even good. I know for today they had God with them, and I can tell that they were appreciative of that. I think this day is going to stick with me personally for a long time. Thank you all again so much for this morning.
Thanks to Galen for helping them inside and thanks to Chris for helping them to the next leg of their journey. I’m so proud of you all.
It really reminded me of The Chosen in scenes where Jesus kneels and speaks with the sick, the blind, the poor. Some days it’s easy to lose sight of what it means to be a Christian, but it’s really quite plain and simple. It’s just moments like that one right there. It sure is something to see firsthand.
